With a lightweight chassis and a new action designed for the .223 Remington, the new Sabatti ST-223 rifle is made for shooting competitions.
The Sabatti ST-223 bolt-action rifle represents the sum of many years of Sabatti experience in the production of precision shooting rifles. The Sabatti ST-223 stands out for the design of the new chassis and barrel, and for the mix of features making it suitable for many precision shooting uses.
The ST-223 rifle action is designed to handle the .223 Remington caliber with maximum reliability. The three-lug bolt is machined from a single block of special high-strength steel, then heat-treated, chrome-plated and rectified to obtain very low roughness of the contact surfaces and guarantee a smooth action. A robust 17-4PH steel extractor offers superior levels of resistance and safety when using high and very high pressure loads. The rifle is fed by a 7-round detachable Sabatti polymer magazine.
The main feature of the new Sabatti ST-223 is the in 7075 aluminum alloy chassis, completely redesigned; compared to the chassis of the Sabatti STR Sport and ST-18 models, the ST-223 rifle chassis design is lighter. The rifle comes standard with an AR-15-derived barrel handguard with M-LOK slots but is compatible with the two Sabatti forearms of the STR Sport model, namely the basic one with M-LOK slot and ARCA-Swiss rail, or the F-Class shooting forearm with Anschutz rail.
The polymer stock of the Sabatti ST-223 is foldable and skeletonized to contain the overall weight, with an adjustable cheek rest and equipped with a Bag Rider on the rear, lower surface; interfaced to the chassis via a threaded connection, it can be removed and replaced with an AR-15/M4 type buffer tube for the installation of aftermarket AR-15 compatible stocks.
The STR-223 rifle features a Sabatti Premium cold hammer forged barrel with conventional rifling, 24” long with a 22 mm muzzle diameter and UNEF 1/2×28 thread for the installation of accessories such as flash hiders, muzzle brakes, compensators, or sound moderators.
The rifle is equipped with a Picatinny rail, mounted as standard on the action, for mounting riflescopes, and a Sabatti three-lever Match type trigger group.
